Artist Highlight: DoubleFoxStudio

1. Tell us a bit about yourselves, when did you start working together.
Hi everyone ! We’re Flavia Marele and Ildiko Muresan, a creative mix called Harem6
which was born in 2003. We met at a party after an exhibition opening in a private home.
We’ve seen each other before as we went to the same Art University but we didn’t meet.
We then started talking about art and we soon realized we had similar aspirations in the
artistic field. Our first works were a series of photographs.

2. How did you get started in the illustration/ art/ sculpter world?
Flavia :We’ve always been drawing and the sculpting came when we wanted to “ cut out
“ from our drawing world the creatures. We wanted to be able to draw on these objects
and it was really hard at the beginning because we couldn’t find the perfect clay for it.
But I soon made my own clay formula and that’s when we were able to make the dolls ,
animals and jewelry. We both shape and draw them now, depending on the object, one of
us is shaping and the other one drawing it.

3. What path led you to develop your unique and charming style?
It just happened, we think it comes in time after hard working and experience.

4. Apart from creating things, what do you do?
We love our animals and all of them in the whole world, we have two dogs and a cat. We
love reading, films, collecting vintage objects and traveling.

5. What was the greatest piece of advice you received in regard to your art?
Never to give up, no matter how hard it could get sometimes. Work hard !

5. Any advice for others who are pursuing creative goals?
We’d definitely advise them to do the same. Never stop dreaming and experiencing new
things regarding materials or ideas.
