Pretty Packaging

Through trial and error I came up with my Etsy shop packaging.

This week while packing up an order I decided to lay out the part of the process and snap a picture.

Packaging really does matters - I know "don't judge a book by its cover" but we do :)

"first impressions matter most"

I get many happy comments about those little extras - so folks it's worth the time and $$.

I posted many the packaging pictures I have of my packaging in all its stages.

(I love photographing my orders:)

Sweet Family Portrait

This family was so fun to draw!! 

Their pets where adorable and so where the owners :) 

I especially loved Mable the dog the the left - her expressions where priceless!!

A teal week

Looking back at my facebook photos from the last week or so I couldn't help but notice the repeating color of teal!

here are the images and bit about them:

1.love birds - I entered this card into a hallmark contest - I hope I win!!!

2. I created the logo/tag design for Ean Candeles. Each candle has it's own tag with a different bird. You can check them all out in her Etsy shop

3. I had such fun creating this Logo & website design for Carmen.Her site looks so adorable finishes!!

4. Custom logo for Toya Laperna. Her kids are so cute!! 

5. playing around with watercolor brushes on photoshop. loving the ombre :)

6. my new past time - designing cards!! You can find more here in my shop.

7. me and best buddy from way back got matching teal braided bracelets at the mall!!

ps. my advertising experiment kind of flopped. 

The cheaper site I got a add for was hacked and all the comments where be spammers!

I got my money back...so I have to find a different blog to work with

My advertising Experiment

I decided for the first time ever to advertise.

It's not that business it slow - thankfully it's not

 I just want to reach out to a larger audience and more people should know of Diary Sketches. 

I advertised on 2 blogs (sites)

One is a large site :  SF girl by bay 

 Advertising on there is a bit of a splurge

(a big business would laugh :)

 but I decided if it works the ad will pay for it's self. 

The second site is much smaller : The Charley Girl

She has less followers, but much more comments per post

her readers seem to be very loyal!

If the name rings a bell - I did a giveaway with her a while back

so the experiment is which site will bring more traffic and sales

was that big splurge worth the dough?

Beach Day

New summer art!

"Beach-day"

I love drawing what it is that season. 

Winter all my girls are bundled up in woolies and sipping hot drinks 

Now my girls are ready to splash in the waves wearing their best retro bathing suits!

Anyone have exciting summer plans?

A great beach worth visiting?

Wedding Anniversary Present

What a sweet couple!

 The wife came to me to make up this custom wedding portrait -for their 30th wedding anniversary!
